28 th May : Compelling Coimbatore Our weekends away from the city were mostly planned on Thursday evenings when we would book bus tickets for Friday nights. So, the last weekend of May was programmed for Coimbatore 190 kms east crossing the ghats bundled up with Ooty  in Tamilnadu further 80 kms from there. Although, we left Calicut at around 12:30 AM from Palayam bus stand , late by an hour and a half, the driver was fast and furious enough to ride us to our destination half an hour before time at 5 AM. Having no option left but to book the corner seats of the last row with the bus racing at such an extreme speed left me sleepless throughout the way praying for my life! In the early Saturday morning stuffed up standing all the way in a bus chock-a-blocked with people, we proceeded to the Isha Yoga center  situated 25 kms on the outskirts of Coimbatore. We were there at a very suitable time for the weather turned unforgiving later in the day. This headquarters of Isha fo...

Kaleidoscopic Kozhikode I can bet if you’re not from southernmost India, you can’t pronounce this name correctly. The sea with its vastness opens up to you with outspread arms and all you wanna do is run to it and get enveloped within t...

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more… -         ~  Lord Byron I have come to realize the truthfulness in the quote, “Any place you don’t leave is a prison!” By that, home had turned into a lock-up with the body latched inside cuboids, mind burdened by ceilings and heart chained to attachments. The internship of summer 2022 occurred to me as an opportunity of emancipation; to flee to a land so far away that it feels completely foreign. Note that “foreign” here is subject to a wide cultural difference and not hospitability. In that context, the second largest district of the second southernmost state turned out to be neighbourly to me . Having already worked as a summer intern under the faculty advisership of Mrs. Lyla B. Das ma’am of the ECE department of National Institute of Technolo...
