Time trimmed Patience...

To begin with, gratitude for you if you take the arduous task of rolling your eyes from left to right and going through the posts, every time they land up in our chats. Not everyone pays heed.

It is 90% probable that you’re not a ‘reader’. So, in that way you’re compelled to let my words gobble up your patience.

The tale of our debasing patience.

Leme take you back to the times when there was no cinema, but books. Reading a book generally took a few days. That’s real endurance.

It was 1895 when the big screen was born. Lights! Camera! Action! And see, we now live in the OTT age, which bypasses cable, broadcast and satellite television platforms. Why will I wait for Dil Bechara to come up on Star Gold instead watch it right away on hotstar? Right?

In 2005 came the YouTube, through which pouring information over our brains takes an average of 10 minutes. 2004 ‘Mark’ed the creation of FB. 2010 saw the launch of your favourite IG.

Did you notice how the ‘instantness’ of our gratification gradually turned more and more instant?

Finally, adding to the craving for quick (rather, quickest) entertainment popped up the TikTok in 2016. How long an average TikTok vid take (better say ‘took’. LOL) to gratify us? A few seconds?

Here take a brief pause and observe how the more-than-a-century-old-evolution has tricked us in cutting down our attention spans

It doesn’t take us long to reach our phones (inside pockets stealing a few precious moments of rest away from our thumbs) whenever a boring scene appears during a movie. Homo sapiens have over time lost their ability to focus on anything for long.

You’ll be amazed of the fact that how streaming videos has gently turned more of passive. I mean right after a YouTube video ends, our brain has to do a minimal task of deciding upon which video to watch next, after the options pop-out. In IG, we only keep scrolling in a fixed direction. Descending now to TikTok, the entertainment slot machine, we go on consuming content like a mindless robo.

Put aside social media, log toh yaha insaanon se hi bore ho jate hai.

A five minute conversation, judged and persona concluded. Hence, concluded.

Aree yaar, insaan hai, koi salt nahi, jo analyse aur observe karke hardness nikal diye.

Nevertheless, वो भी एक पल का किस्सा थेमैं भी एक पल का किस्सा हूँ

Let my words hang your mind up in deep thought and self introspection.
