TB#05 : Worrying FULLstop

I keep six honest serving men

(They taught me all I knew)

Their names are what and Why and When

And How and Where and Who

-                                                                             RUDYARD KIPLING

As Carnegie unveils it  :

This book didn’t come out of ivory tower. It isn’t an academic preachment on how worry might be conquered. I have tried to write a fast moving, concise, documented report on how worry has been conquered by thousands of adults, one thing is certain: this book is practical. You can set your teeth on it.

And, Damnnn!! He means it. It is 110 percent pragmatic in its offering. Mainly coz it’s filled with stories of scores of men and women, who will tell you in their words how they stopped worrying and started living. (So you see, it comes with a “agar mai kar sakta hu, toh aap kyu nahi " tagline)

As the author puts it, there are 16 ways in which the book will help you. The ones I found most catchy are:

A law that will outlaw many of your worries

How to turn criticism into your advantage.

How to add one hour a day to your working life

How to avoid emotional upheavals

21 words that enabled world famous physician, Sir William Osier to banish worry.

We start by fundamental facts we should know about worry. Part by part and lesson by lesson we glide from the techniques in analyzing worry to ways to fight against it; from how to keep from worrying about criticism to preventing fatigue and keeping our energy and spirits high.

All this embedded with quotes, short poems and verses which are bound to make you jump off from your seat. If I put up all of the excerpts I’ve saved, it will take 3-4 more subsequent posts. But, you'll certainly find your mood uplifted after scrolling a few of them I've put here.

This is a book meant to find a place in your bookshelves and the lessons it dispenses in your brains.
